The Organic Synthesis Group of Prof. Bonifazi in the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Vienna is currently seeking a Post-doctoral researcher in the field of organic synthetic chemistry to develop new controlled synthetic methods for preparing boron- and nitride-doped molecular graphenoids.
Duration of employment: 3 year/s
Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week
Job Description:
Development of organic synthetic methods for the preparation of molecularly defined and periodically BN-doped graphenoid molecules. The successful candidate will design and synthesize a series of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon resembling molecular graphene derivatives from borazine precursors and study their physical properties for optoelectronic applications.
Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement, student services, and administration.
Organic synthetic chemist with a proven experience in the development of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
i) air-sensitive and metal-catalyzed organic reactions,
ii) synthesis and reactivity of borazines,
iii) two-dimensional polymers using organic solvent-free functional liquids,
iv) Photochemistry and photophysical characterization.
Experience in the field of organic synthesis of borazine derivatives.
